Cost drivers

Endpoints, identities, cloud services, log sources, SIEM, telemetry volume, retention, service hours, onboarding, threat hunting, incident response authority, compliance reporting and service levels all change workload and price.

Low price can mean narrow coverage

A low headline price may exclude important sources, offer limited investigation or leave containment entirely to an already stretched client team. Define what happens from alert through closure and what risk remains with the organization.

Questions before comparing providers

Ask which telemetry is included, whether coverage is continuous, how tuning and hunting work, who investigates, what response actions are authorized, how onboarding is handled and which measures show service quality.

Questions leaders ask

Is MDR priced per endpoint?

Often partly, but identities, cloud, logs, retention and response scope can materially change the total.
